29 April 1936: Zubin Mehta was born

Zubin Mehta, a world-famous conductor of Western classical music, was born on 29 April 1936 to a Parsi family in Mumbai. His father was a conductor of the Bombay Symphony Orchestra.

 

29 April 1891: Bharathidasan was born

Kanakasabai Subburathinam , popularly called Bharathidasan, was a 20th-century Tamil poet and rationalist whose literary works handled mostly socio-political issues. His writings served as a catalyst for the growth of the Dravidian movement in Tamil Nadu.
